Facebook is advertising for five more blockchain-related positions. This adds to the 20 positions already posted by the company in the last month.
The new blockchain-related positions, based at the company’s Menlo Park HQ in California, include: business operations manager, data scientist, production manager, software engineer and growth product manager.
Early last year, Zuckerberg said that Facebook would look into cryptocurrencies, and it appears that they are doing just that
CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently posted outlining a “privacy-focused vision for social networking” that suggested a move to embrace end-to-end encryption of users’ data on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.
Additionally, Zuckerberg has speculated on the prospect of Facebook using a blockchain model to enable decentralized logins without its servers acting as authenticators.
All this came around the time The New York Times reported that Facebook is developing a digital currency that its users can trade among each other and exchange on cryptocurrency exchanges.
The latest job adverts give a glimpse into Facebook’s blockchain strategy.
